OEM Private Label Fire Extinguishers: What to Prepare Before Production

Private label is more than putting your logo on a carton. The label is a regulated document in most markets, and a small compliance error can stop a shipment at customs. Here is what to prepare before production.

1. Label artwork and content

Provide the label in a print-ready format (AI, PDF or high-resolution PNG) with the correct dimensions. The label must include the information required in your market: product type, capacity, fire rating, operating instructions, warnings, manufacturer or importer details and the standard reference. Ask your local authority or a compliance consultant to review the draft before printing.

2. Cylinder colour and marking

Red is the default, but some markets or brands use a different RAL colour. Confirm the RAL code and whether the logo is printed, silk-screened or applied as a decal. Embossed marks and date stamps must match your traceability system.

3. Carton and pallet design

Send the carton artwork, barcode and any shipping marks. Confirm the carton strength for sea freight and the pallet pattern. A carton that looks good in a photo can still crush in a container if the board grade is too light.

4. Sample approval

Always approve a pre-production sample before the mass run. Check the label position, the gauge reading, the hose length, the handle movement and the carton print. Keep the approved sample and photos as the reference for inspection.

5. Documentation

Confirm what documents will be supplied with the order: test report, material certificate, packing list, commercial invoice and any declaration your customs broker requires. If your market requires a registration, start that process early; it can take longer than production.

Typical OEM timeline

  1. Artwork and specification confirmation: 3–7 days.
  2. Pre-production sample: 7–10 days plus courier.
  3. Mass production: 20–35 days after deposit and sample approval.
  4. Inspection and booking: 3–5 days.

Do you keep our artwork confidential?

Yes. We do not reuse customer artwork or labels for other buyers.
